What serverless mean in enterprises and how can enterprise implement new architectural patterns and technologies ?

Adoption of cloud services can leverage scaled infrastructure and cut down on operational cost. But cost of operation for cloud services is not so straight forward. Enterprises that have on premise cloud, running Kubernetes cluster in-house don’t have real benefits from cloud deployment. It is cheaper to spin up dev environment in house that to deploy it in the cloud — specially when on premise infrastructure exist and is running.

Build PHP 7.2.8 from scratch for Openlitespeed

In OLS you can run several php versions at the same time for each individual virtual host.

To use PHP of specific version you first have to build it. 

To build php 7.2.8 first you have to install all libraries needed for successful build

  • libxml2-devel
  • openssl-devel
  • libcurl-devel
  • libpng
 sudo yum install libxml2-devel openssl-devel curl-devel libpng*

After this installs you can build your php through OLS webAdmin interface.

First you have to choose PHP version, then compiler options and parameters – default values are supplied and for “normal” build there is no need to change them. 

OLS admin interface will download the selected version of php LSAPI and extract it, but you will have to manually trigger the build and installation procedure.

/usr/local/lsws/phpbuild/buildphp_manual_run.sh

After build and installation procedure finishes – it takes several minutes – you can perform test of the build. Position your self in build dir and run

make test

This site, blog.architech.hr, is intended for publishing blog posts from Architech that relate to SIPA Platform – news articles, informations, mind dumps and such.

We will also publish articles on new development,  infrastructure, current and future plans. This will also be the place to comment on such topics and let your self be heard. Maybe we will include a forum on this pages, but currently we will integrate forum on sipaportal.architech.hr as it is intended that this will serve as a information hub for the platform.

Future articles will provide insight into platform architecture design and plans on future upgrades. One of the topics will be the idea behind this platform and how it will be organised, what can you do on the platform and what we want you to do on the platform.

Some time ago, I’ve started creating a mind map for the platform and you can see it below. It is not as nearly complex but it will continue to grow. If you like to be included in the design of the mind map please let me know.
